Director of the SCO RATS Executive Committee Takes Part in a Briefing on the Occasion of the Launch of the Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Uzbekistan

Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS Mr. Jumakhon Giyosov took part in a briefing on the occasion of the launch of the Center for Public Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event was held in Tashkent at the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on January 29, 2019

In his speech, Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS Mr. Jumakhon Giyosov congratulated Uzbekistan on the significant event - the opening of the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy. He noted that the SCO was making a significant contribution to the solution of special issues on the international agenda at the regional and global levels. It is a significant factor in ensuring peace and stability, expanding political, social, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation in the region, effectively countering the emerging security challenges and threats.

He expressed confidence that the efficient work of the Center will make a significant contribution to strengthening mutual trust and good neighbourliness, interethnic and interfaith harmony, and further expand the successfully developing cultural and humanitarian connections between the SCO countries.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Safayev, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Nematov, the Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Kurbanov, Director of the Center of the Public Diplomacy Mr. Nazarov, SCO Deputy Secretary General Mr. Akkoshkarov and Heads of Diplomatic Missions of the SCO Member States to the Republic of Uzbekistan also spoke at the event.
