Representatives of the SCO RATS Executive Committee Take part in the Joint Command-Staff Exercise “NAIZA-2019”

(September 24-27, 2019 г., Koktal ground, Republic of Kazakhstan) 

Joint Command-Staff Exercise “NAIZA-2019” coordinated by the Coordination Service of the Council of Commanders of the CIS Border Troops was held at the Koktal training ground (Republic of Kazakhstan) from September 24-27, 2019. The topic of the exercise was "Settlement of a border conflict at the external border of the CIS member states."

Representatives of the border guard agencies of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Coordination Service of the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops of the CIS Member States, as well as representatives of the SCO RATS Executive Committee took part in the Command-Staff Exercise.

The main objectives of the exercise were as follows:

  • improving the algorithms of the activities of the joint staff of the group of border guard agencies and other agencies of the CIS member states in resolving border conflicts;

  • providing practice to officers of the joint staff and the relevant state bodies on the management of forces and assets in the preparation and carrying out of the joint special operation to resolve the border conflict;

  • to improve the coordination of governing bodies and units of the group of border guard agencies and other agencies in the preparation and carrying out of the joint special operation on the CIS external borders;

  • to improve the field training and coordination of the actions of the officers of the staff of the group of border guard agencies and other agencies, to develop practical skills and ways to accomplish their tasks using modern weapons and military equipment;

  • to conduct a comprehensive study of the effectiveness of the algorithm of the joint staff of the group of agencies and command of the units to successfully complete tasks in an environment close to real.

The participants of the Joint Command-Staff Exercise demonstrated effective cooperation and ability to jointly counter specific types of terrorist threats.

The heads of the delegations of the CIS member states that took part in the event noted the high level of its organization and implementation, emphasized the need for such events and expressed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation to maintain peace and security in the region.

The event was held in a business-like and friendly atmosphere. The participants expressed gratitude to the Kazakh side for the favorable conditions ensured for the Exercise.
