On October 15-18, 2019, in Santiago (Chile) the delegation of SCO RATS Executive Committee headed by Deputy Director А.Mukashev and consisting of the Deputy Director Liu Jie, senior expert A.Mukhamejanov, referent Zhang Yuhong attended in the 88th session of the General Assembly of the International Criminal Organization – Interpol. SCO RATS has observer status at Interpol and takes part in the global police forum for the second year.

       The participants of this event within the framework of the agenda have discussed a wide range of issues on countering the most dangerous types of transnational crime using the capabilities of Interpol.

         The meeting of SCO RATS delegation with Interpol President Kim Jong Yang took place on the sidelines of General Assembly, during which A. Mukashev informed on current situation of regional security in the “Shanghai space”, results achieved by interaction of competent bodies of the SCO member states on countering terrorism, as well as on cooperation of the SCO RATS Executive Committee with relevant international organizations.

      During the conversation the parties also discussed the prospect of cooperation between two organizations within the framework of the regional projects of Interpol.

Kim Jong Yang has underlines important role of SCO RATS in the global counter-terrorism track and has supported proposal on the need of increasing cooperation between organizations on practical dimension.

       The meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and constructive dialogue.

        Moreover, the delegation of Executive Committee held a several bilateral meetings with the heads of Interpol national bureaus of SCO member states and representatives of international organizations.
