Regional organizations

On 02.04.1999 the Council of the Heads of the CIS states decided to reorganize the CIS Executing Secretariat, office of the Interstate Economic Committee of the Economic Union, working bodies of some international and intergovernmental sectoral bodies into one single permanent executing, administrative and coordinating body – Executing Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Anti-Terrorist Center of CIS member-states (CIS ATC) was established by the decision of the Council of the Heads of CIS member-states of 21.06.2000. It is a permanent specialized sectoral body of the Commonwealth of Independent States intended for coordination of collaboration among the competent bodies of CIS member-states related to combat against international terrorism and other extremist activities.

CARICC is one of the largest UNODC projects, being an interstate body, it provides coordination of efforts by the competent bodies of the members-states in counteracting transnational drug crimes.
