BERLIN, April 10. / Reporter Vyacheslav Filipov, TASS. The Moroccan detained over the weekend near Leipzig wanted to commit a terrorist act near the Russian Embassy in the German capital. This was reported on Monday by the newspaper Der Tagesspiegel with reference to sources in the law-enforcement agencies of Germany.

According to the newspaper, this was the conclusion of the experts of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (Domestic Intelligence Service of FRG). The 25-year-old suspect was going to mingle with the particpants of the demonstration that was planned to be held next to the walls of the diplomatic mission, and commit a terrorist act. Perhaps he wanted to do this "as a revenge for Russia's support for Bashar Assad.

As previously reported, the FRG police detained a migrant on Saturday night in the town of Borsdorf near Leipzig (the federal state of Saxony) in the refugee center. He is a Moroccan citizen, who, according to the preliminary data, was refused asylum in the Federal Republic of Germany. He is suspected "of preparing a crime that threatens the security of the state."

The Land Criminal Department received information about the possible preparation of the attack last Friday. After the meeting of the representatives of law enforcement agencies, it was decided to conduct an operation to detain the person. The law enforcement agencies noticed him back in February this year. Currently, the Moroccan is in the pre-trial detention cell, noted Der Tagesspiegel.
