Mr. Zhang Xinfeng, Director of SCO RATS meets with Mr. Yang Shu, Director of Chinese Institute of Central Asia of Lanzhou University of China and his delegation.

    On November 14, 2014, in the Headquarter of SCO RATS, Mr. Zhang Xinfeng, Director of SCO RATS met with a 6-Member delegation headed by Mr. Yang Shu, Counter-Terrorism Expert and Director of Chinese Institute of Central Asia, Lanzhou University of China, who were here to participate in “The Silk Road Central Asia Workshop ”.

    During the meeting, two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on issues of regional security situation, the prevention and combating of the “Three Evil Forces”, and reached extensive consensus. They agreed that the regional security situation is generally stable and under control but the threats of terrorism and extremism are still very serious. To cope with the threats and maintain regional security and stability, it is necessary to adhere to the principle of prevention and fighting at the same time, and carry out international cooperation.

    With the demand of the delegation, Director Zhang Xinfeng made a brief introduction to the work of SCO RATS. He pointed out that over the past 10 years, SCO RATS has played a very important role in coordinating the competent departments of SCO member states in the fights against the “Three Evil Forces” and maintaining regional security and stability.

    The Meeting took place in a cordial and friendly atmosphere.
