On August 11, 2014, in Pakistani Embassy in Uzbekistan, Mr. Vitaly Burov, Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation (SCO RATS) met with Mr. Naveed Anjum, Deputy Head of Mission and Mr. Tanveer Ahmed, Consul of the Pakistani Embassy in Uzbekistan. Mr. Wei Qiang, the Senior Expert of SCO RATS was present at the meeting.
During the meeting, Mr. Burov shared with his counterpart the upcoming visit of SCO RATS delegation to Islamabad and discussed relevant issues concerning the arrangement of travel itinerary, potential topics of discussion and issues of mutual concerns.
Mr. Naveed Anjum first extended warm welcome to the visit of SCO RATS representatives on behalf of the Pakistani Embassy, noting that they will actively coordinate the relevant departments of the Pakistani Government namely the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior and NACTA for the reception and meetings of SCO RATS delegation. He also believed that this visit will definitely further boost mutual understanding and promote exchanges and cooperation for the fight against terrorism between the two Parties.
Two Parties agreed to keep close contact of the upcoming visit of SCO RATS delegation to Islamabad to ensure its full success.
The Pakistani side on request briefed the institutions, mechanism and daily operations of the departments of foreign and domestic affairs, security, law enforcement and counter terrorism of Pakistani government.
Two Parties also exchanged views on issues of regional and international security.
The meeting took place in a candid, mutual understanding and constructive atmosphere.
