Delegation of the SCO RATS Executive Committee takes part in the 19th meeting of the SCO Forum

A delegation of the SCO RATS Executive Committee, headed by Director Ruslan Mirzaev, took part in the 19th meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Forum held on June 5, 2024, in Tashkent. The forum was dedicated to the topic: “The role of the SCO in the new conditions: joining efforts in the name of universal security, stability and prosperity.” The event was organized by the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.


Delegations from 10 countries took part in the Forum, including experts from research centers of the SCO member states, representatives of SCO observer states and partners, as well as representatives of various structures within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.


In his welcoming speech, Ruslan Mirzaev highlighted the impact of the situation along the external borders of the SCO area on the further development of the organization, the harmonization of the legal framework of the SCO's activities with regards to the current trend of its expansion, as well as the importance of the continued exchange of expert opinions in countering terrorism, extremism and separatism in conditions when neoliberal ideology takes more aggressive forms.


During the Forum, participants discussed priority areas of cooperation within the SCO, ways to increase the effectiveness of the SCO at the present stage and further prospects for improving the activities of the SCO Forum.
