The delegation of the SCO RATS Executive Committee, headed by Deputy Director Naveed Anjum, took part as observers in the practical part and closing ceremony of the Special Exercises that involved the command and control bodies and the Special Forces of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces titled “Cobalt-2024” (hereinafter referred to as “the exercises”) on August 16, 2024, in Novosibirsk. 

The exercises were conducted by the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation. They were supervised by the Deputy Director of the FSNG of the Russian Federation, Colonel General Vladislav Ershov.

During the exercises, the parties worked on planning a special operation, deciding on how it will be implemented and controlling the actions of units. The special forces of the CSTO member states worked out practical activities of combined operational-combat groups.

The leadership responsible for the exercises commended on how the events went. They noted the excellent level of coherence, smooth organization and commitment of the participants.
