A meeting between the Director of the Executive Committee Ularbek Sharsheev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Beibut Atamkulov took place at the venue of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on February 3, 2025.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan warmly congratulated Ularbek Sharsheev on his appointment and noted that the Kazakh side was confident that, during his leadership, RATS will become an important tool for enhancing the coordination and effectiveness of security activities. He emphasized that Kazakhstan remains committed to the idea of ensuring security in the region and is ready to deepen cooperation within the RATS.

In turn, the Director of the Executive Committee noted that in the upcoming three-year period it was necessary to engage in intense work to ensure the progressive development and strengthening of interaction between the competent authorities of the SCO member states in countering terrorism, separatism and extremism, expanding cooperation between RATS and the SCO dialogue partner states and other international anti-terrorism organizations.

The parties also exchanged views on issues of global and regional security related to the activities of the SCO RATS.

The meeting took place in a businesslike and friendly atmosphere.
