43rd meeting of the SCO RATS Council

The 43rd meeting of the Council of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO RATS) was held under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic on March 7, 2025, in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan. The event was attended by delegations of the competent authorities of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People's Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and representatives of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS. The SCO Secretary General attended the meeting as an honorary guest.

During the meeting, participants agreed on the Report of the SCO RATS Council to the Council of Heads of SCO Member States on SCO RATS activities in 2024 and the draft Cooperation Program of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to Counter Extremist Ideology in the Space of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization for 2026-2030.

The SCO RATS Council approved the following:

- information on the progress of implementing decisions of the SCO RATS Council;

- the work of the competent authorities of the SCO member states and the RATS SCO Executive Committee based on the results of the implementation of the SCO Cooperation Program in Countering Terrorism, Separatism and Extremism for 2022-2024 in 2024;

- an agreement was reached to continue implementing joint measures to counter the use of the Internet for terrorist, separatist and extremist purposes.
Decisions were made to hold the 11th meeting of the Heads of the Border Services of the Competent Authorities of the SCO member states in the Kyrgyz Republic, to hold joint anti-terrorist exercises of the competent authorities of the SCO member states in the Republic of Belarus and the 11th International Scientific and Practical Conference on Cooperation between the Member and Observer States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the Sphere of Countering International Terrorism and Extremism in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The organizational issues, as well as issues related to personnel management and financial support for the activities of the SCO RATS Executive Committee were considered.

A number of staff members of the competent authorities of the SCO member states and officials of the SCO RATS Executive Committee were awarded the Council Diploma and the SCO RATS Commemorative Badge for their personal contribution to the SCO RATS activities and strengthening of interaction between the competent authorities of the SCO member states,

The activities of the SCO RATS Executive Committee were appreciated during the meeting.

It was agreed to hold the next meeting of the SCO RATS Council in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Council meeting was held in a businesslike and friendly atmosphere.
