A delegation of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS, led by Director Ularbek Sharshiev, took part in the Meeting of Defense Ministers of the SCO Member States on June 26, 2025, in Qingdao.

The heads of defense agencies discussed current issues of international and regional security, as well as other issues of mutual interest, in a traditionally friendly and constructive spirit. They identified further steps to strengthen cooperation in the military area and noted the high level of mutual understanding within the SCO.

They noted that cooperation in the military sphere among SCO member states is an important factor in strengthening mutual trust within the Organization.

They also declared their readiness to strengthen military coordination and cooperation to ensure stability and peace in the SCO area on the basis of universally recognized principles and norms of international law, with the UN playing a central coordinating role.

The meeting participants confirmed that the SCO activities were not directed against other states or international organizations, and spoke in favor of broad cooperation based on mutual interests and common approaches to addressing regional challenges.

Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS Ularbek Sharsheev reported on the results of the activities of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, measures taken by the competent authorities of the SCO member states to improve cooperation and strengthen the fight against the “three forces of evil,” as well as ensuring the security of the nations of the “Shanghai family,” the active participation of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS in developing conceptual approaches to the establishment of a Universal Center for Countering Challenges and Threats to the Security of SCO Member States and its branch, the Center for Countering International Organized Crime in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.

The parties highly appreciated the efforts of the PRC aimed at preparing and successfully holding the event and expressed gratitude for the hospitality and creation of favorable conditions for the work.
