Director of the SCO RATS Executive Committee Ularbek Sharsheev took part in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO member states, held on July 15, 2025, in Tianjin (PRC) under the chairmanship of the Chinese side.

The participants discussed the current state and prospects for the development of SCO cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian areas, as well as the most important aspects of strengthening the organization's activities.

In his address, Director of the SCO Executive Committee Ularbek Sharsheev noted that the current meeting was dedicated to identifying areas for the development of multilateral cooperation in the field of global and regional security.

It was noted that the Council of Foreign Ministers is the most important platform for discussing key issues related to the current activities and development of the SCO.

Regarding the activities of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, it was emphasized that the RATS is a permanent body of the SCO for combating terrorism, separatism, and extremism. It has been tested for strength and has earned authority in the international arena. The experience gained over 21 years allows to ensure effective assistance to the counter-terrorism cooperation of our competent authorities. The mechanism established for monitoring and responding quickly to existing and potential security challenges and threats is now in demand by all members of the Shanghai family.

 

I am convinced that the outcomes of the meeting will make an important contribution to strengthening security in the SCO space, which is particularly relevant in the context of the military conflicts and political events of recent weeks.
