On participation in the International Conference on the Spread of Extremist Ideology (Moscow, September 17-18, 2025)

A delegation of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS, led by Deputy Director Umid Tashkuziev, took part in the 5th International Conference on the Spread of Extremist Ideology.

The event brought together representatives from more than 40 countries and international organizations, including the UN Counter-Terrorism Office, the CSTO, and the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center. Participants discussed national experiences and current measures to counter extremist ideology, including neo-Nazi manifestations.

In his address, the head of the delegation noted the role of the SCO as an authoritative structure uniting ten countries and about 42% of the world's population. It was emphasized that SCO documents understand the notion of extremism as an ideology and practice of violent or unconstitutional conflict resolution.

RATS continues strengthening the legal framework and cooperation between competent authorities in the fight against terrorism, separatism, and extremism, arranges the exchange of information, including on Internet threats, and interacts with international security authorities.

Particular attention is paid to the Programme of Cooperation on Countering Extremist Ideology for 2026-2030, adopted at the Tianjin Summit, as well as to the decision to establish a Universal Centre for Countering Challenges and Threats to the Security of SCO Member States on the basis of RATS.
