On October 3, 2025, in the city of Alatau (Almaty Region, Republic of Kazakhstan)  a delegation of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS, headed by Director Ularbek Sharshiev, participated as observers at the final stage and closing ceremony of the special exercises with the command and special forces units of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces “Cobalt-2025.”

The exercises were carried out by the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Major General Baltabekov.

During the active phase of the exercises, combined special forces groups from the competent authorities of the Organization's member states performed training and applied operational and combat tasks in conditions as close to combat as possible.

In the process of working through the training tasks of the special operation, the special forces of the CSTO member states practiced cooperation in neutralizing gangs and terrorist groups, suppressing the activities of drug manufacturers and blocking drug trafficking channels, as well as eliminating the consequences of emergencies arising from combat operations and terrorist attacks.

The Cobalt 2025 exercises demonstrated the high level of individual training and joint action of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces. The positive experience will be used by the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure in preparation for the completion of the Sakhand-Antiterror-2025 joint anti-terrorism exercises of the competent authorities of the SCO member states.
