The Joint Working Group of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS and CARICC met in Tashkent

A meeting was held between the Joint Working Group of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for combating the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors (CARICC) on the sidelines of the 11th International Scientific and Practical Conference on November 20, 2025, in Tashkent.

The parties discussed the current drug situation in the Central Asian region and Afghanistan and exchanged views on the potential threats and risks of destabilization in the region.

During the meeting, a detailed exchange of views took place regarding the current situation in the fight against terrorist financing through drug proceeds and the prospects for further cooperation in this area.

Particular attention was paid to the decision to establish a Universal Center to Counter Challenges and Threats to the Security of SCO Member States on the basis of RATS and to establish an SCO Anti-Drug Center in Dushanbe that were adopted on September 1, 2025, at the Tianjin Summit.

The parties agreed to hold the next meeting of the Joint Working Group in 2026.
