Meeting with the experts of the UN Security Council Committee’s Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Group took place

The delegation of the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team of the UN Security Council Committee established pursuant to the resolutions 2610 (2021), 1267 (1999) and 1989 (2011) on the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Daesh), Al-Qaeda and related persons, groups, enterprises and organizations (hereinafter referred to as MT), at the request of the MT delegation, met with the delegation of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS on March 10, 2023.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues on the MT mandate, monitoring the UN sanctions regime, and MT providing support to UN member states. They also exchanged views on the security situation in Afghanistan, threats from foreign terrorist organizations located in Afghanistan to the SCO countries, which are Afghanistan's closest neighbors.
