Delegation of the SCO RATS Executive Committee took part in the 7th regional meeting of heads of border agencies of the CIS member states

The delegation of the Executive Committee of SCO RATS took part as an observer in the 7th regional meeting of heads of border agencies of the CIS member states held on March 16, 2023, in Almaty.

The event was attended by the delegations of the border agencies of the Commonwealth statesn namely: the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Coordination Service of the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops and the Anti-Terrorist Center of the CIS member states.

During the meeting, the participants considered terrorist and extremist threats to border security and discussed joint preventive measures to neutralize those threats at the external borders of the CIS member states.

Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS Ruslan Mirzaev noted in his address that the issues of ensuring security at external borders present a common area of interest for all of us, as the security of the SCO member states and the CIS member states is directly related to the establishment of an effective system of integrated border management; he stressed that the development of collaborative approaches to combating challenges and threats to border security will be a reliable factor in ensuring the peaceful and creative growth of our peoples and states.

The meeting was held in a business-like and constructive spirit.
