A group of officers from friendly foreign countries representing the national defense college of New Delhi visited the executive committee of SCO RATS

A delegation from the National Defense College of New Delhi visited the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on August 30, 2022.



The delegation included the senior management and officers of the College. They were informed about the goals, functions and activities of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure. At the end of the briefing, an interactive discussion was held.


Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS Arthur Golovanov emphasized in his report the crucial role of the judiciary in the large-scale work carried out by the states to suppress terrorist and extremist activities. It was noted that in most SCO countries, it is the decisions taken by the judicial authorities to designate an organization as terrorist or extremist that serve as a basis for systematic counter-terrorism work to suppress the criminal activities of these structures. As of today, as a result of this work of the judiciary in the SCO member states, 235 FTOs were banned. They were designated as terrorist entities by the states and put on the List of Foreign Terrorist Organizations maintained by the Executive Committee. At the same time, taking into account the transnational nature of crimes of a terrorist and extremist nature, including in cyberspace, much attention was given to the importance of considering the development a Single List of Terrorist Organizations Banned in the SCO Member States. The Chairmen of the Supreme Courts expressed their gratitude to the Tajik side for the excellent organisation of the 17th Meeting, which was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and constructive dialogue.
