Delegation of the SCO RATS Executive Committee participates in a joint seminar

The delegation of the SCO RATS Executive Committee comprising Deputy Directors Anjum Navid and Verma Rakesh Kumar, expert Dmitry Poletaev and assistant Dmitry Bondarenko took part in a joint seminar of the UN, the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG) and Rosfinmonitoring on countering the use of virtual assets for criminal purposes and terrorism financing held on August 24, 2023 at the MGIMO campus under the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow.

Representatives of the UN, the EAG, the CIS ATC, the CSTO, the International Training and Methodological Center for Financial Monitoring, representatives of state and law enforcement agencies, and financial intelligence units of the EAG and CIS countries took part in this seminar.

The seminar covered two main topics:

1) the risks of virtual assets use for criminal purposes, including terrorism financing;

2) countering the use of virtual assets for criminal purposes, including terrorism financing.

During the event, master classes were held for the participants.

The participants highly appreciated the event and the practical value of the information they were provided.
