Delegation of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS takes part in the conference in Dushanbe

The delegation of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS, headed by Deputy Director Mr. Orazkulov, took part in the international scientific and theoretical conference on the topic: “Political leaders and their role in preserving peace: contribution to countering terrorism and extremism” held on September 22, 2023, in Dushanbe.

The event, held by the Academy of Public Administration (APA) under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, was attended by representatives of the People's Democratic Party, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Justice of Tajikistan, the OSCE, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation Federation, Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Belarus, Academy of Public Service and Management under the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and faculty of the APA.

When opening the conference, APA Vice Chancellor Professor Gafurzoda focused on the special role of political leaders in addressing the most important geopolitical problems. He emphasized that the Republic of Tajikistan, as an integral part of the world community, considers itself responsible for ensuring security and is making every effort to counter terrorism and extremism.

In his welcoming speech, ex-SCO Secretary General APA Professor Alimov noted the special role of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure in ensuring regional security.

The address of the Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS Mr. Orazkulov covered the contribution of the leaders of the SCO countries to ensuring the security of the region. As an example, he used the proposals to improve efficiency of countering terrorism, separatism and extremism that they put forward during the meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States held in the capital of India in July this year. He noted that the SCO RATS was open for dialogue, consolidation of efforts and cooperation with relevant organizations and anti-terrorist structures.

In general, the conference was held in a constructive atmosphere, and the participants appreciated its excellent organisation.
