On participation in the meeting of the Working Group on Afghanistan under the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers

Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS Artur Golovanov took part in the 38th meeting of the Working Group on Afghanistan under the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers held on December 7, 2023 in Moscow (Russian Federation).

Participants of the meeting exchanged views on the emerging situation in Afghanistan. They focused on the ongoing high level of activity of foreign terrorist organizations operating in Afghanistan, and the fact that some of them are interested in carrying out terrorist attacks against neighbouring countries. They also discussed issues related to ensuring regional security. Participants noted the difficult socio-economic situation in Afghanistan and the need to continue providing humanitarian aid to the Afghan people,

The meeting of the Working Group was extremely well organised and took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and constructive dialogue.
