Meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran took place at the RATS SCO venue

A meeting between the Director of the Executive Committee Ruslan Mirzaev and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr. Ali Bagheri Kani took place at the venue of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS on January 31, 2024.

Mr. Bagheri Kani expressed the Iranian side’s interest in expanding cooperation with the SCO member states in the RATS format, emphasizing its importance in consolidating efforts and establishing practical cooperation on a multilateral basis in countering terrorism.

Director of the Executive Committee Ruslan Mirzaev appreciated the fact that the representatives of the competent authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran started working in the format of the SCO RATS and actively participate in ongoing expert meetings. He informed the other Party about the main objectives, the mandate of the Organization and current issues related to the cooperation between the competent authorities of the SCO member states in the field of countering terrorism, separatism and extremism.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and constructive dialogue.
