33rd report of the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team on ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida made available

The 33rd report of the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team, pursuant to resolution 2610 (2021) on ISIL (Da'esh), Al-Qaida and associated individuals and entities (hereinafter referred to as the Team), has been published on the United Nations website.

 

The document contains an overview and description of evolvement of the threat, events of regional significance (Central, Northern, Eastern, Western and Southern Africa, Iraq and Syria, the Arabian Peninsula, Europe, Central, Southeast and South Asia), an assessment of the impact of resolutions (resolution 2199 ( 2015) and 2462 (2019) on terrorist financing, resolution 2347 (2017) on cultural heritage, resolution 2396 (2017) on the issue of returning and relocating foreign terrorist fighters), implementation of sanctions (travel ban, asset freeze and arms embargo), recommendations, as well as the activities of the Monitoring Team and an invitation to submit comments and suggestions.

 

It is noted that the Group welcomes comments and suggestions on this report and asks to submit them to 1267mt@un.org.
