Three people killed in a terrorist attack in Balochistan

At least three people were killed, including the president of the local press club, and eight injured in an explosion in the city of Khuzdar located in the southwestern province of Balochistan. This was reported by The News International newspaper.

 

According to The News International, extremists detonated a remote-controlled explosive device on one of the city's highways. As a result of the terrorist attack, the president of the local press club journalist Mohammad Siddiq Mengal was killed. At least 10 people were injured, and two of them died in hospital.

 

On the orders of Balochistan Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau, an anti-terrorist operation is being carried out in Khuzdar.

 

Balochistan and the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province accounted for most of the attacks in Pakistan in April, the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies reported. Terrorists carried out 16 attacks in Balochistan last month. They resulted in the death of 17 residents and four security force staff, and more than 30 people were injured. There were 55 terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in which 43 people were killed.

 

The total number of people killed in April as a result of militant attacks in the country was 70, including 31 police officers. Pakistani security forces eliminated 55 terrorists.
