A suicide bomber detonated an explosion device at a railway station in the Pakistani city of Quetta in Balochistan province, killing at least 24 people and injuring about 50 others, the Associated Press reported.

According to the statement, the explosion occurred near the ticket office, where about 100 passengers were gathered at the moment.

The separatist group Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attack, saying in a statement that the suicide bomber targeted soldiers who were at the railway station.

The attack killed 24 people and seriously injured about 50. Police said that several soldiers and six railway employees were among the dead.
