At least 3 policemen have been killed and 20 others injured when an improvised explosive device was used to attack a police bus in southwest Pakistan. This is reported by the newspaper Dawn.

According to the media, the explosion occurred in Mastung District of Balochistan Province, about 35 km south of the administrative centre of the region, Quetta. The improvised explosive device was attached to a motorbike parked beside the road and detonated when a police bus passed close to the booby-trapped vehicle.

All the injured policemen have been taken to Mastung hospital, two of them are in serious condition.

So far, no terrorist organisation operating in the province has claimed responsibility for the attack.
