Six people injured in a blast at a rally in Pakistani Balochistan
At least six people were injured in a suicide bombing targeting a rally on Saturday in Mastung district, southwest Pakistan's Balochistan province, Xinhua news agency quoted local police as saying.
The suicide bomber tried to break into the stage of the rally, organised by the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M), to attack the party leadership but was stopped at the outer security perimeter in the Lac Pass area.
“When the rally security tried to search him before letting him inside, the terrorist tried to detonate his explosive vest but failed. Then he tried to flee from the spot and set off an explosion,” a police official said.
An eyewitness told local media that the terrorist came on a motorbike along with an accomplice who managed to escape after dropping the attacker.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack
