Four police officers killed in extremist attack in Pakistan

At least four police officers were killed and six more were injured as a result of an attack by extremists at a checkpoint in the Lakki Marwat district (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province) in Pakistan. The information is provided by law enforcement, writes TASS.

 

According to The News, the incident took place on the morning of March 30. The extremists attacked the police checkpoint and a shootout ensued. A police team of four people sent to the scene of the fight as a reinforcement died as a result of the detonation of an explosive device planted on the way from the police station to the checkpoint.

 

It is reported that law enforcement officers managed to fight off the attack of extremists. Police are conducting a search operation in the area of the incident.
