Explosions hit Pakistani police station

At least 12 policemen were killed and more than 40 people were injured in explosions at the police station of the anti-terrorism department in the Pakistani city of Kabala, Geo.tv reported citing police.

According to the police, there were ammunition and mortar shells inside the building. It is also believed that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber. Two explosions took place inside the station, destroying the building.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Inspector General Khan said security personnel have been put on high alert throughout the province.
