Four security officers killed in an attack on a checkpoint in south-western Pakistan

Three police officers and one paramilitary soldier were killed on Sunday in simultaneous attacks on two checkpoints in Balochistan province in south-western Pakistan, Chief Minister of Balochistan province Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo confirmed.

In his statement, Chief Minister condemned the attacks with terrorists shooting and throwing hand grenades at checkpoints.

He also praised the efforts of security personnel who successfully repelled the attacks and maintained stability in the province.

Local police said the attacks took place on Sunday morning, when a group of militants attacked roadblocks using advanced weapons. They met resistance and fled.

The police added that as a result of the attack, several members of the border corps were injured and were transferred to a nearby hospital.

One terrorist was killed during the shootout.

No group claimed responsibility for the attacks.
