One police officer killed, 10 injured in terrorist attack in northwest Pakistan

One police officer was killed and 10 others were injured in two suicide bombings in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan. This was reported by law enforcement agencies of the country.

The incident took place in the Khyber tribal area. The suicide bomber blew himself up when a police officer on duty at the main gate of the station stopped him, according to a statement from local law enforcement officers. The guard died on the spot.

When other police officers gathered at the explosion site, another terrorist also blew himself up, injuring 10 people. The injured persons were taken to the nearest hospital. Several of them are in critical condition.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

A large contingent of police and security forces arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area to investigate.
