Islamic State claims responsibility for a terrorist attack in Pakistan

The Islamic State terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack in Pakistan's Bajaur district, Aamaj News reported.

The day before, during a political rally, an explosion in Pakistan's Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province (near the border with Afghanistan) killed 46 people and injured at least 200 more.

The explosion occurred during a rally by supporters of the Islamist Jamaat-Ulemai Islami party, but before its high-ranking leaders arrived there. The attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.
