Vehicle with officials blown up in Pakistan
Seven people were killed in a car explosion in the Panjgur district of southern Pakistan, Dawn reports.
According to the officials, the car with people was blown up by a mine. The victims include the head of the local government (Union Council Chairman) Ishtiaq Yaqoob.
“At least seven people, including the Union Council Chairman, were killed as a result of a car explosion in Panjgur district in Balochistan on Monday evening,” the report said.
Amjad Somro, deputy commissioner of Panjgur, noted that the terrorists used a remote explosive device. The attack targeted officials who were returning from a wedding ceremony.
Recall that in November, a group of Pakistani Islamists ended the truce with the government. This has led to an increase in terrorism in the country.
