ISIS militants committed a terrorist attack in Shāh Chérāgh mosque

Terrorists opened fire in the Shāh Chérāgh mosque in Iranian Shiraz. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack.

Iranian law enforcement officers succeeded in detaining one of the terrorists, and they are presently looking for his accomplice, Arab media report.

The attack took place on the evening of August 13, according to Yamal-Media. Two militants broke into the Shāh Chérāgh mosque and opened indiscriminate fire on the parishioners using machine guns. As a result, one person was killed and eight were injured.

The deputy governor of the region Ismail Safli said security forces had arrested one terrorist and were questioning him. Meanwhile, the search for his accomplice continues, Tasnim agency notes.

It is worth noting that this is the second attack on the Shāh Chérāgh mosque. The previous terrorist attack took place in 2022 when three terrorists attacked the mosque. One of them was wounded and died in the hospital.
