Two policemen killed in attack in Pakistan

Two police officers were killed and three injured in an attack in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in north-western Pakistan, the police reported.

The police were on routine patrols in the province's Lakki-Marwat district when they were attacked by unidentified gunmen, the police told media.

According to the police, the attackers ambushed a police car and fled the scene after shooting the policemen. The injured police officers, including one in critical condition, were taken to a nearby hospital.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
