At least 25 army troops have been killed in terrorist attacks in Pakistan

At least 25 army troops have been killed in terrorist attacks and counter-terrorism operations in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan. Security forces eliminated 27 extremists. As Armenpress reports with reference to TASS, this was reported by the Interdepartmental Service for Public Relations (ISPR) of the Ministry of Defense of Pakistan.

According to this department, early in the morning six extremists attacked a security checkpoint in the Daraban region. During the attack, a car with explosives, driven by a suicide bomber, crashed into a school building where military personnel were present. The explosion led to the collapse of the building and the death of 23 soldiers. Six militants who took part in the attack were eliminated.

Additionally, 21 terrorists were eliminated in two security operations in Dera Ismail Khan district of the same province. Two servicemen were killed there in battles with extremists.

The Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan group, affiliated with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the attack on the troops in the Daraban area.
