Security forces detain extremist suspects

Officers of the National Security Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, with the assistance of the prosecutor's office, detained four Kazakhstan citizens who are suspected of involvement in a banned extremist organization, the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

Prohibited literature and other evidence of extremist activity were confiscated from the detainees. The agency notes that these people have already been tried before for similar crimes.

A pre-trial investigation is underway.
