Suicide bomber attacks group of Japanese in Pakistan

A suicide bomber attempted to attack five Japanese citizens in Pakistan. He detonated the bomb too early, killing two bystanders, Reuters reports.

No terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the Karachi attack. Pakistani authorities have identified the Japanese nationals as engineers working at an export processing area in the port city.

Their group was the target. They were followed by two militants on a motorcycle. One jumped down next to the Japanese and detonated the explosives strapped to his body. His accomplice then began shooting at the car.

Private guards of the Japanese citizens returned fire and the second attacker was killed on the spot. All engineers have been moved to a safe location.
