A resident of Tashkent studied religion via the Internet and fell under the influence of foreign terrorists

The press service of the Tashkent city police department published an information message.

In 2016, a native of the city of Tashkent Bakhtiyor Abdujabborov, born in 1991, left for Turkey and then moved to Syria to participate in hostilities on the side of militants of a foreign terrorist organization. Previously, the perpetrator began to study religion via the Internet and fell under the influence of recruiters.

Based on this fact, a criminal case has been opened against the attacker under Part 1 of Article “Creation, management and participation in religious extremist, separatist, fundamentalist or other prohibited organizations” of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which may entail up to 15 years in prison. He has been put on the international wanted list.
