Pakistan and Iran will develop a joint plan to counter terrorism

Pakistan and Iran see terrorism as a common problem for the two countries and have decided to closely coordinate the efforts to counter the terrorist threat. This was stated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Pakistan following a meeting between the minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi and his Iranian counterpart Ahmad Vahidi in Islamabad.

“Pakistan and Iran have agreed to develop a joint plan to combat the common threat of terrorism, which will envisage further improvement of mutual support and exchange of intelligence information,” the Pakistani Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.

An agreement between Pakistan and Iran on cooperation in these areas will be signed in the near future.

Naqvi and Vahidi also agreed to cooperate in combating cross-border smuggling and drug trafficking.
