French teenager detained for planning a terrorist attack at Olympics

French authorities have detained a 16-year-old teenager suspected of plotting a terrorist attack to be carried out at the Olympic Games in Paris, BFMTV reported. It is clarified that the guy joined the Islamic State terrorist group and wanted to die as a martyr.

The Paris anti-terrorism prosecutor's office launched an investigation after his arrest in the Haute-Savoie department. The boy was detained at his parents' home after he posted messages on social media about his intention to make a suicide vest and blow himself up during an event in the Défense quarter of north-west Paris.
