23 suspects with links to IS detained in Turkey

Turkish intelligence services detained 23 people in seven provinces of the country on suspicion of links with Islamic State (IS) terrorist group. The head of the national Ministry of Internal Affairs Ali Erlikaya reported this on X (formerly Twitter).

According to him, the most arrests - 10 – took place in the Hatay province bordering Syria.

From June 1, 2023 to April 22, 2024, 1,422 operations against IS were carried out in Turkey, 2,991 people were detained, with 718 of them being arrested for terrorist activities, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
