Russian aircraft strikes on militant bases in Syria

At least two terrorists were killed in an operation by Pakistani security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. This was reported by the Interdepartmental Public Relations Service (IPRS) of the national Armed Forces.

According to the IPRS, security forces conducted an anti-terrorist operation in the Dera Ismail Khan district. Their target was one of the militants' hideouts, based on the intelligence provided by local security agencies. As a result of the clash, two extremists were eliminated. Weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices, which the terrorists planned to use against Pakistani citizens, were recovered from the scene of the shootout.

The Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed two militant bases in the Syrian province of Homs, said the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties (CPVS) in the Syrian Arab Republic Major General Yuri Popov.

“Strikes by the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed two bases of militants who had left the al-Tanf zone and were hiding in hard-to-reach areas of the Al-Amur mountain range in Homs province,” Popov said at a briefing on Friday.

According to him, over the past 24 hours, two attacks on government troops by the terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra in Idlib province have been recorded in the Idlib de-escalation zone.

“As a result of shelling from a large-caliber machine gun by terrorists from the Fatira region at the positions of Syrian government forces near the village of Hazarin, Idlib province, one Syrian serviceman was wounded,” Popov said.
