Pakistani law enforcement agencies eliminate 91 terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since the beginning of 2024

Since the beginning of 2024, Pakistani law enforcement officers have eliminated 91 terrorists in separate operations in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province situated in the north-west of the country. This was stated in the official report of the provincial counter-terrorism department, published on Friday.

 

As noted in the document, since the beginning of this year, more than 1 thousand operations have been carried out throughout the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to detain and eliminate terrorists.

 

The most vulnerable areas were still the tribal districts of Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan, where 19 and 14 terrorists were eliminated, respectively, during separate operations and raids, the report said.

 

Over the past period of this year, 179 terrorist incidents took place in the province, with January being the busiest month with 60 attacks. Then, 48 terrorist attacks were recorded in April, 38 in February and 33 in March, the counter-terrorism agency specified.

 

The report also said that 16 of the eliminated terrorists were wanted by the police for committing various crimes.

 

It is reported that two suicide vests, 36 hand grenades and 247 kg of explosives were seized from the terrorists.

 

In addition, 10 attacks on polio teams and accompanying police personnel were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the reporting period, highlighting the ongoing security situation in the province.
