SCNS of Kyrgyzstan: Searches carried out at the residential addresses of Yakyn Inkar active members
The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with the Service for Combating Extremism and Illegal Migration (SPEM) of the Internal Affairs Department of the Osh Region, when conducting operations to counter religious extremist organizations, carried out searches at the residential addresses of active members of the religious and extremist group Yakyn Inkar.
During the searches, 76 pieces of materials were seized, including 51 books, 10 brochures, two telephones, three DVDs, three tape cassettes and five USB drives.
Some of the seized books belong to Yakyn Inkar religious extremist movement, which is banned on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic. The seized items were sent for an expert examination at the State Expert Service under the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic. Based on the results of the expert review, legal measures will be taken in accordance with the criminal legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic with regards to the active members of Yakyn Inkar group.
In addition, as a result of the educational activities carried out, one of the members of this group, indicated as A.A., fully recognised the destructive nature of the radical extremist ideology Yakyn Inkar and voluntarily renounced further membership in this banned organization.
