Pakistani security forces eliminate six terrorists in the country's northwest
Pakistani security forces eliminated six terrorists in two separate operations conducted on Wednesday in the country's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. This was reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), which acts as the press service of the Pakistani army.
According to the statement, the first operation was carried out in Dera Ismail Khan district based on intelligence inputs indicating the presence of terrorists in the area.
During the operation, security forces cordoned off the terrorists' hideout and eliminated five militants during an intense exchange of fire.
In another operation in North Waziristan Agency, security forces exchanged fire with terrorists and eliminated one of them, ISPR said.
It is noted that weapons, munition, and explosives were confiscated from the eliminated terrorists. The militants were allegedly involved in various terrorist attacks targeting security forces and civilians.
Counter-terrorist operations are currently underway to eliminate all remaining terrorist threats in the area, the ISPR said, adding that the security forces are committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism from the country and ensuring the safety of the public.
