Resident of Ingushetia detained on charges of justifying terrorism

Staff members of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB Directorate for Ingushetia reported on the detection of the crime, according to the Telegram channel of the national police department.

Two comments from a resident of Ingushetia, published in the messenger in September 2023, contain signs of justification for the activities of one of the leaders of Caucasus Emirate terrorist organization and its member, security officials believe.

The FSB filed a criminal case against the man under the article on justifying terrorism on the Internet (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), with the stipulated from five to seven years in prison.

The court chose a restraint measure for him in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place.
