A terrorist attack against police prevented in Karachay-Cherkessia

In Karachay-Cherkessia, a terrorist who was preparing an attack on police officers was eliminated, the Public Relations Center (PRC) of the Russian FSB told TASS. When detained in the village of Adil-Khalk, Nogai district, a militant born in 1998 offered armed resistance and was eliminated by return fire. There are no casualties among security forces personnel.

A Kalashnikov assault rifle, a large number of cartridges, a ready-to-use improvised explosive device, components for making explosives, as well as communications equipment containing correspondence with coordinators of terrorist activities located abroad discussing planned crimes were found at the site, the PRC added. Investigative authorities have opened criminal cases.

In April, there were two attacks on traffic police officers in the republic. As a result, four security forces officers were killed and five more were injured. Five attackers were eliminated.
