Four leaders of the religious extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir detained in Kyrgyzstan
Officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan detained four leaders of the banned radical extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, the press service of the agency told reporters on May 17.
“As a result of operational activities aimed at preventing religious extremism, four active members and leaders of the religious extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir al Islami were detained,” said a spokesman.
According to him, searches were carried out at their places of residence in different regions of Kyrgyzstan, and various materials with extremist content were confiscated.
“Currently, appropriate examinations have been ordered based on the material evidence obtained and additional investigative actions are being carried out,” the press service further clarified.
